You subscribe to an outcome: defined improvements inside a defined service zone, held there year round by a licensed service operator. Not a hull you buy. Not one you rent. And not a number you ring when the water has already gone.

The sequence

Four stages, and you can stop after any of them.

  1. Situation report You send the water body, the stressor, the season and the cost. Not a specification — a description. It goes to Alarivean through the contact form and it is the only step that requires nothing from you but ten minutes.
  2. Site read We come back with what the available data says about that water: what is likely driving the deficit, whether this platform is the right instrument, what a realistic service zone looks like, and where the uncertainty sits. Including, when it is the honest answer, that you need a different tool.
  3. Calibration phase A bounded demonstration area with agreed viability parameters, run on your own water. This is where a claim becomes a measurement. Both parties find out what actually happens before either commits to a program — including the contained throughput each hull sustains, specified by Alarivean at approximately 5,000 gallons a minute and then measured on your water rather than asserted from a brochure. That is a flow rate, not a volume held: what the hull draws in goes back into the same water.
  4. Service zone The subscription itself, and it does not stop. Vessels on the program through every month of the year, gases and augments included, proactive protection and adjacent Deep Strikes as standard, telemetry and reporting throughout. What a given week looks like follows the water rather than a calendar. A zone is a characterized key rather than a stretch of coast. It is baselined against its own stratification, its own flushing and its own event record before anything is contracted against it — and that characterization is what decides the scope, not which map the coastline happens to sit on.

Running across all four

Independent scientific oversight, for the whole of it.

Oversight is one of the four pillars a program is built on, alongside the vessels, the gas supply and the telemetry.

Relevant local scientific expertise is engaged from the situation report onward and stays engaged for as long as the subscription runs. A marine institute, a fisheries laboratory, an estuary body, a ministry's own scientists — whoever in that place already answers for that water.

Risk control is run to best practice on that basis, with human and environmental health and safety ranked above the program's own targets. Where those pull against each other, the oversight group is inside the decision at the time it is taken.

Throughout, not at the ends

Not a consultation at the start and a report at the finish. Present in the quiet months and the bad ones alike, while the decisions are still being made.

What is in the base

What that removes from your side of the table: gas procurement and logistics, vessel capital, crew, instrumentation, the analytics stack, and the awkward internal argument about which department owns the boat.

What it does not remove: the upstream nutrient problem, the permitting relationship with your own regulator, and the obligation to tell us the truth about what the water has been doing.

And no two of these match. A water column moves, and the regulatory, political and economic weather around it moves too, so a program is written to one zone and does not transfer whole to the next. Programs, not projects. The distinction shows up in the contract, where the obligation is a standard of water rather than a list of completed tasks.

Why it never stops

Nothing stops taking oxygen out in October.

There is always a stressor working on a coastal water body. Running full time is how a program stays in front of what they add up to.

The things that pull oxygen out of a bay are busy in every month of the year. Organic material settles and decomposes. Water warms and holds less. A column stops turning over. Whatever the catchment sent down in March is still being worked on in June. August is only when the arithmetic finally becomes visible, and by then it has had most of a year to accumulate.

Which is the case for a subscription rather than a callout, and it is a physical case rather than a commercial one. A deficit that is held down continuously never reaches the state that needs an expensive emergency. The zone arrives at its hardest weeks already ahead, instead of starting from behind on the day somebody notices.

None of that means a hull parked in one bay forever. A program runs year round; what it does in a given week follows the water, the readings and the forecast.

The economics, plainly

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, and that proverb is doing real work here. It is precisely why this can be offered at the value it is.

Buy the same competence as a purely reactionary force — idle until called, then mobilized against a stressor that has already accumulated — and the price would be very much higher. It would have to cover the waiting, the short notice and the size of the job that waiting created. The advantage belongs to whoever arranges this before the water needs it.

How a subscription ends

Two grounds. Performance outside the specification written for your water ends it at any point in the term.

And once the minimum subscription period has been served, a client who is not satisfied ends it for any reason at all, or for none stated.

Very few infrastructure contracts carry the second one. It sits in this one because a program a client has to be held to was never worth selling.

Commercial structure

Sovereign programs are built differently from port contracts.

At national scale the structure is usually a joint venture: a majority local partner, an industrial gas partner with regional supply, and a business-system license from Alarivean carrying a fee and a gross revenue share. No stretch of coast is reserved by signing. A zone certified against the licensed systems and running to its terms belongs to whoever is running it, for as long as they run it properly — which is a harder thing to hold than a clause, and a more useful one to have.

At asset scale — a port, a plant, a resort group, a fish farm — it is a subscription with a zone and a set of upgrades, running until one of the two grounds above ends it. No joint venture, no license, no five-year architecture.

Which of those two conversations you are having is usually obvious within the first exchange, and it changes nothing about the technical work.

Five things worth knowing

What drives the price, and when does a figure arrive?

Zone area, vessel tier, gas supply, instrumentation, the oversight arrangement, and the permitting work in your own jurisdiction. A subscription is priced against a volume of water and a distance from a working port, and both of those vary by more than an order of magnitude across the sites that write in.

Prevention is the other half of the answer, and it is the half that decides the order of magnitude. Held down week by week, a deficit stays small enough to be routine work. Left to accumulate until it is an emergency, the same water needs a response mobilized at short notice against a problem at full size — and priced accordingly, which is to say very much higher.

The figure for your water arrives with the site read, in writing, with its assumptions printed alongside it. Fixed before that: the shape of the commercial structure, what sits in the base, and what counts as an upgrade.

On what grounds can we end the subscription?

Two. Performance outside the specification written for your water, at any point in the term. Or, once the minimum subscription period has been served, simple dissatisfaction — any reason, or none given at all.

No fault to establish, no case to argue, no threshold of severity to reach. A client who wants out after the minimum period is out.

What actually goes in a situation report?

The water body and roughly where. What goes wrong, and in which months. What it costs when it goes wrong — lost harvest, throttled plant, closed beach, canceled bookings, remediation spend. Anything you have already tried.

Depth profiles and water-quality history help enormously if you have them. If you do not, send it anyway.

What happens if the calibration phase misses its parameters?

The phase closes and no program is committed. Viability parameters are written down and agreed before a vessel arrives, so a miss is a reading rather than an argument about interpretation afterward.

The institution holding the live feeds sees the same numbers at the same moment we do. That is what keeps the finding independent of whoever is writing the report.

How quickly can a vessel be in the water?

Standing a program up from cold takes regional fleet availability, your own permitting, gas supply and crew accreditation. That work runs in weeks. A stressor runs in days.

On a live subscription the question dissolves, because all of it is already inside the zone and already working. The gap between weeks and days is not a scheduling detail. It is the reason this is arranged in advance rather than ordered on the day.
